Experience

General Legal Practice-June 1984 through the present. Sole practitioner since law school graduation in both Iowa and Minnesota.

Areas of Practice: Family Law: Have assisted clients in all levels of dissolution and divorce cases from initial paperwork through Supreme Court appeals. Child custody cases, including preparing parenting plans, working with mediation, and trial. Post decree matters including modification of child and spousal support and moves out of state. Step-parent adoption, including getting the consent of the birth parent; birth parent rights protection in third party adoptions.

Wills: Assisted clients in preparation of wills with and without trusts for children and tax planning purposes. Prepare Health Care directives and Living Wills. Prepare Power of Attorney documents, Living Trusts, Revocable Trusts. Help with probate and affidavits of transfer of real estate.
Appeals: Successful appellate cases in family law, contract law, and criminal law in Iowa and Minnesota.

Legal Research February 1993 through the present.  Contract Research Assistant for  Legal Research Center, Minneapolis MN.

Legal research on a variety of topics in a specified period of time. Web based research tools as well as conventional library research. Produce written work product including memorandum, court documents, letters.
