Hello, I have been a lawyer for more than 25 years. I graduated 16th in my class from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1984. Ever since then, I have had my own private practice, concentrating in family law, wills, research, and general practice

I started out in Cedar Rapids, Iowa but have been in Eden Prairie for over 17 years. I regularly appear in court in Hennepin, Dakota, Scott, Ramsey and Carver Counties. I also handle cases in other metro counties and do not charge my clients for travel within the metro area.

More than one half of my practice has always been family law cases. These include divorce, dissolution of marriage, child custody, child support, alimony, and visitation dispute cases. I also handle paternity, adoption and birth parents rights cases. Over the years my family law practice has included cases that end with early, negotiated settlement up through Supreme Court rulings.

I also help clients with a variety of matters in probate court.  I do informal and formal estate proceedings and represent clients in guardianship and conservatorship matters.  I recommend that most people have a will, a power of attorney, and a health care directive in order to be as prepared as possible for growing older and death

My goal is to provide my clients with the legal services they want at an affordable price. I do my best to give each client a thorough overview of his or her case with as many options as possible. I am firmly committed to informed client choice and will spend the time needed to help my clients understand the legal complexities of their case.
